Kacher Family Christmas..I mean...Valentines Day Letter 2010

We had another year full of enormous change and transition, but it was great! We began 2010 around a campfire in the Arabian desert and ended 2010 in an apartment building in Alexandria, Virginia (they were both fun). So, here’s a quick overview of how we got from there to here:

We spent last Christmas and New Year’s Eve in

Abu Dhabi visiting Ben’s parents. We then flew back to Brussels, Belgium where Ben was working for a law firm. After all that excitement, we decided to do something boring and move back to the U.S. So, we moved to Alexandria, VA so that Bonnie could go back to work at the IRS and so that Ben could find a job there.

Ben worked on a couple different temporary projects (and got sworn in as an attorney in New York in the meantime!) and then got a job with the U.S. Department of Defense working on federal contracts. Just little contracts for now, but he is hoping to work on bigger contracts for airplanes and ships and stuff later on. He will be starting an L.L.M. degree (kind of like a master’s for lawyers) at George Washington University Law School in January, so that will keep him busy too.

Bonnie enjoyed working at the IRS and then received a fantastic opportunity to take a new job with the RBL Group, which is a Utah-based consulting firm. She will be working on business development and program management. Best of all, she will get to switch to part-time and get to play more with Paije!

Paije has also had a busy year and turned one in October. Her mission in life is to unpack things. She is very good at it. She also chases all the boys she sees and tries to grab their faces. It usually scares them off, which is just fine with Dad.

We still miss living in Belgium, but we are very happy here. We have met many great people here and enjoy all the things to do. We are very grateful for friends and family and we look forward to 2011!
