F.A.Q. on the Kachers' last few months

Q: Are you guys really having a kid?

A: Yep, in October.

Q: Boy or girl?

A: Dunno, but we'll find out in a few weeks.

Q: Babies are expensive, how are you going to pay for it?

A: Again, dunno. Bonnie got a job as a management analyst with the IRS in Washington, DC, so I told her that I would be happy to be a stay at home dad, but she told me no. Bummer. I suppose I should get a job. Put that law degree to good use.

Q: So are you guys moving to DC, then?

A: That's what it looks like, but we're open to going anywhere. I interviewed with a firm in Switzerland and they told me that they wanted to make an offer, but they couldn't afford to. It pretty much broke Bonnie's heart. I just interviewed with a law firm in Belgium (on the phone) yesterday, but it didn't go so hot since it was all in French and my French kind of stinks. Oh well, I tried. Anyway, we are open to getting a job anywhere.

Q: So what IS Ben going to do?

A: Good question. For now, graduate from law school in May, study for the New York bar exam all summer, then take the bar exam in July, move to DC, and find a job down there.

Q: So how is Bonnie's pregnancy going?

A: Pretty well, Bonnie was sick for a while (refer to last blog post), but she has been feeling better these last few weeks. She just keeps telling me that my breath stinks and that she wants mint ice cream. She also kicks me in her sleep more. Supposedly the baby is the size of an orange now!

Q: Didn't you guys go on a cruise or something recently?

A: Yeah, it was awesome! We went with Bonnie's sister LeeAnn and her husband John.

Here are some pictures:

Q: Is a cruise good for pregnant women?

A: Yes, it is the perfect solution: they can eat all they want, lay around in the sun, chat, and then eat some more. It's also good for their husbands.

Q: So are Ben's parents really living in like the Middle East or something crazy like that?

A: Yep, they have been in Abu Dhabi for a few weeks now, and they are having a grand time.

Q: Isn't it dangerous over there?

A: Nope.

Q: So you guys have been living in Syracuse for a while now, how do you feel about leaving?

A: Good question. We have made lots of great friends here and will certainly miss them, but we are excited to move on to new opportunities. Besides, we have had kind of a funny love hate relationship with Syracuse: we love it in the summer and hate it in the winter. Unfortunately, we have spent three winters here and only one summer. You do the math.

Q: So what are you going to do with the baby?

A: Probably keep it. If we don't like it, we'll give it to the gypsies.

Hope you're all doing well, we'll post more soon!

I hear grandmas take babies you may want to give away!! Especially if they're there for the first few days and maybe even the delivery.

What a thorough update! So my only questions left are ... is Bonnie feeling better these days? Do you think your little orange ninja is a mancub or shelia? And how about you guys come to MN at the end of August because we'll probably be there? Miss ya!

Congrats little cousin! Hey, when exactly are you due? The last time I was preggers, Julianne and I were due within about a month of each other, so I'm super happy that it's your turn to commiserate with me this time!
